Most of the X-Men characters (and most other Marvel characters) have died multiple times.

Wolverine was killed by Magneto for example because he ripped out his adamantium skeleton with his magnetism powers. ewwww!

CA was never really a globally big character anyway. Certainly nothing on the size of Spiderman, Batman, Superman, X-Men, Fantastic Four etc

Besides, it's obvious they are doing this as a publicity stunt and when popularity increases again, they will revive Cap America
