One of my 'colleages' currently owns this website and his testimonials look a little... fake.

Do you think he has simply made these accounts just so his tesimonials can boost his websites popularity?

The name sounds like a stripper.

Only the first few of the testimonials seem over the top, and we can assume that there were plenty of negatives to round out the bell curve. Therefore, I would say that the testimonials are pretty much real....unless they all showed up when the site first got posted.

Basically, with a few million users, you can find somebody to say anything about any site/subject/other.


Edit: Oh yeah, you should have added an All of the Above option. I do think the testimonials are genuine, and I do think he's a sneaky git for posting only the positive reviews, but then again, that's all you usually see.
