Format Recovery Trouble.
I'm in trouble.
Formatted a Win98 (FAT32) drive, with NTFS and installed XP, whereafter I realized I didn't back the e-mail messages and contacts. Luckily documents and other data were backed-up onto CD.
So I recovered some files with format recovery tools, and Outlook Express DBX and MS Outlook PST files are among them. Biggest DBX is 99,677KB, and the only PST is 50,545KB. So I suspect it must be them. However I also suspect that some of the data inside became corrupted. Is there any way to retrieve some of it? If I need a third party program, please advise on the best one available, that would give the bst value for money. Thanks!!!!!!!!!

Re: Format Recovery Trouble.
I use filescav/pci file recovery to recover deleted files but i suggest GetdataBack to recover files from formatted or lost partitions.
PCI File Recovery
Filescav
GetdataBack for FAT and NTFS

PCI File Recovery is easy to use.

Re: Format Recovery Trouble.
Thank you.
It is all nice to have those tools. And indeed I used them, but perhaps I didn't make my point clear. I have recovered the files! Please see the original post. What I need now... is... a software program to read the "recovered" PST (MS Outlook) and DBX (Outlook Express) files, so that the emails and folders and other data inside those files can be recovered, even if it is just some of it. I say this because it seems as if the files may have got a little corrupted during the "upgrade" process, if you know what I mean
Oh! And SCANPST.EXE doesn't work. When is tries to "repair" the PST file, it comes up with an empty file. I tried some demo version of a PST repair tool and it showed me that the file contains e-mails and folders and other items, however because it was a demo, I couldn't save the items, nor see what they are. The PST file is over 50 MB, the DBX is over 99 MB, so I KNOW that those files contain the actual data.
I need the best value money can buy. (For cheap or even free, if you know what I mean ) Or perhaps if one of you developers have programmed such a utility, I am willing to exchange the moneys for't
