How to format the text means how to set color and bold the text it is not working

It's a little counter-intuitive if you're used to a word processor, but you have to type the text out first, then select it and click the format option you want.

If you are using Internet Explorer you should take a look at the A valuable forum tool link in my signature. It will make bolding and all the other formatting changes much easier.
