What's 3.0?
I've been out of the loop of windows operating systems for a while. I never heard of Windows Vista until a couple days ago, and now there's a version 3.0 of the .NET framework? Is it out now, or on its way?

Re: What's 3.0?
.NET 3.0 is a superset of .NET 2.0. It is .NET 2.0 plus some extra bits to handle Vista's new presentation, communication and workflow capabilities. You can install .NET 3.0 and some add-ins for VS 2005 and develop applications that target Vista specifically, although only the workflow components are out of testing so far.

So, what you're saying is I don't need to worry about it right now unless I'm planning on developing Windows Vista applications?

.Net 3.0 can be installed on windows XP (SP2) and windows server 2003 as well as being built in to Vista.
