I am new to the VB world but I have already encountered a problem after converting an Access97 database to Access2000. VB5 can not open the new version...Incompatible file format. I belived VB6 will have the same problem. Won't know for sure until I upgrade. My VB instructor says that Jet Database Engine 4.0 is required and that it comes with Access2000. He says that, if Access 2000 is installed, 4.0 should be available for selection in VB under Resources in the Project menu. We haven't found it yet. I have been unable to find anyone with a real solution. Still on the case.

First thank you very much for the replays.
9minds: I have on my cmputer Office 2000-Standard, so i still have Acess97. I also have Visual Basic 6 and i download the database sample from the "Database Tutorials" here in VB-world.net and with Acess97 i could not open it but with VB6-and DB engine-4 it's open it (in the connection object select DB-engine version 4)
So all you need to do is install Office 2000 of any type and you be able to open it.
Thank you again,
Kiron.
