Good meaning u make anti-virus, security types of apps

Bad meaning u make hacking tools, viruses.

Neither meaning u make notepad, music player, image editor that types of apps

Thin line between good and bad , I don't make hacking tools or viruses those. If good is white and black is bad then I would be in the gray.

I voted good i believe i meet all standards in my software. I know idiots who don't(sorry for the profanity) And i have made some nice IP based chat clients as well as chat clients for game servers. I always try my best before quiting on a project. I always try different ways to see which way is most efficient for that particular procedure. And Al42 Database programming is good not that i do much of it but i like it

I write business applications but my security testing (prevention of SQL injection attacks in particular) exceed the client requirements (and knowledge) so I would say I am borderline good.

That said some of the stuff I wrote and made public could have been used by others for bad so the jury is still out on that one.

Even if it's years that I use VB6 I am still a beginner. But I really like VB6 I really hope that Microsoft will continue to support standard VB and not only VB.Net...

Please keep this thread on topic folks - it is supposed to be about whether you make security software, or the opposite.


To answer/clarify the last two posts:

Any versions of VB later than 6 are .Net, not Classic VB. (and I wouldn't be surprised if VB9 is in development by now)

Support for VB6 is virtually over (the final service pack was released about a year ago), if you want support move on to VB.Net - the Express edition is free.
