    Change the look of my urls??

    I have a link such as www.mysite.com/mypage.php?name=abc

    What I would like to finish up with is to allow the user to simple enter www.mysite.com/name and then my site will open the above page...

    Is this possible such as how it happens with sites like Wordpress

    Yes. For example, the Apache module mod_rewrite can do it.
