Why hasn't Macromedia Flash caught fire?

Macromedia's Flash seems to be able to do anything, and seems more seemless and faster than any of the Server Page technologies (ASP, PHP, .NET).

Oh but it has caught on but you wont see an entire webpage made out of Flash as its also a file size issue whereas pure html is smaller and faster.
