    Angry

After formatting I copied my backups to the ICQ folder, but as I started ICQ and registered my number it seemed to overwrite my backupped file... however, I lost all ICQ-data so...

Everyone who has me on his ICQ list please send me a short message!

    Thanks,

    Fox

Here's a hint... won't help you much now... but....

install ICQ, and register your number, THEN you put the copies into the folder... BTW, if they're copied, then why don't you just recopy them?

    0) Yes, after that mistake I know that too
    1) Because I moved the backup files to the folder

...at least my list is so clean now

I always back up on CDR... so they can never get deleted ..... but, as soon as I get my new computer, I am going to use my old HDD to back stuff up(my old is 10GB, which I am going to partition 2/8 for OS/Backup, and my current is 20GB which I will partition 10/10 for applications(office, vs, etc.)/personal files(mp3, images, programming stuff, etc.))....

What was your backup? tape or another HDD?

    Another computer

My main HD is 75 GB and I sometimes backup the important files to my second computer, I always planned to record my backups on CD but that just takes too much time

Hey, your stuff is very expensive! In Switzerland I'd pay for the same computer around CHF 2000.- that's like $1000...
