I have a friend who complains about everything, but is often correct. The trouble is, I have trouble knowing when to believe him.
He claims that Windows ME has been designed to keep computer illiterates out of trouble, but makes it difficult for knowledgeable users to do some of the things they want to do.
He says that he is annoyed every time he wants to do something other than run some program or sign on to the Internet.
Do any ME users care to comment? I have been thinking about switching from Windows 98 Second Edition to Windows ME. Should I skip ME and try the next OS? I have way too much Windows software to think about a MAC or Lunix, or whatever.

I recomend you switch to Win2k, as long as you don't play many games or have old hardware(if the hardware company is out of business or the product is no longer supported, it's going to be hell getting a driver for it, my friend has this problem with a scanner.. so he dual boots 98/2k). WinME really is for 'dummies', I don't have it, but I have used it at computer stores, and it is horrible, the GUI gives me a headache(too many colors), and it is extremely unstable.

Hey, this looks pretty nice!
How do you install them and if you do, will you be able to revert to the original windows look?

I haven't used it, but I suppose it comes with documentation of how to install it. And I am pretty damn sure you can go back to using the normal windows GUI

yea to uninstall it you just replace the entry in the system.ini that refers to GUI or SHELL i can't remeber but it is in the documentation you could even write a program that lets you choose which to bbot to
