I have been wondering this for a long time now:
    1) How often do you program?
    2) Do you consider yourself a geek or nerd?
    3) Do others consider you a geek or nerd?

    2) Hell no
    3) My Fonz-esque mojo is, thankfully, recognised by others

    1. I do amazingly little coding for myself, but I learn a lot
    2. Probably, yeah I guess so, but not in a bad way
    3. I've been accused of being a cool kind of geek, in general I'm 'the programmer guy'

It's the geek boy-racer! Next car upgrade after the extended wheel arches with fat tyres and the huuuuge exhaust will be an mp3 server in the boot connected up via a wireless LAN I expect

Don't forget that new stereo system from Kenwood that lets you program as you drive. Simply speak VB to it...

    Or not

    3) Only my fiance....I don't even mention computers to anyone else except for him after I leave work.

1 - Entirely too often at work in VB and not often enough at home (never) in Perl and Java.

2 - I am a geek. I once dated a geek. She was smarter than me. Man, those were happy times. My finacee is a science teacher, and teaches other teachers how to incorporate computers into the classroom. She thinks she knows computers well enough to not be bothered by me, so I keep my mouth shut. I am a geek in hiding.

3 - No, they probably consider me a yuppie with poor tastes. Though I have good fashion sense, I wear my shoes until I have holes in them like a good lazy geek. I drive an Impreza (not a good yuppie car) because it is a good tech sports car, like a Talon or an MR-2 or a Fiero. Geeks don't go for big muscle cars because we don't usually bother measuring our dicks. Besides, a Mustang is too slow.
