    [Serious] Console vs GUI

    Sorry for stupid question, but wouldn't a program with a GUI interface take up more memory than a Console program?

    I thought it would vary depending on complexity because I thought maybe with GUI it's better at managing memory with sophisticated stuff like a Winsock IM which has to keep listening in the background while being able for the user to send text than a console?
