For years I have distributed programs using the VB6 standard deployment software - with no problems. Lately, some users have seen messages saying that their system files need to be updated when they try to install. No update happened and they were in an infinite loop.

I know there is a Microsoft link about this phenomenon.

On my suggestion, some users have gone into the .lst file with the setup and modified the Bootstrap file version details to conform to what they have on their systems. The software then installed no probs.

Can anyone tell me an easy way to get round this problem - easy for me AND for my users.
