crashing in the browser ... eg FireFox .. blame the Browser .. not Adobe ..

Its a great product .. agree its got its flaws like any .. especially that annoying checking for updates box .. and they've made it much larger over time.

MS word does not compare to Adobe Acrobat though ..
At least for us that prepare documents for clients, PDF is the way to go.

Think of Adobe Acrobat as one big image viewer .. a document with text and images looks the same on most systems .. while when using Word, most of the time it will not. Not to mention it is compressed more than Word.

I've already said that Adobe has done some alright things, but personally i can't find anything in it that i can't do with any other document type. Pdfs to me are only useful to view documents, you can't even add comments to pdfs without the use of other software. I don't have a problem with pdfs as much as i do with Adobe's reader. Pdfs do what they are intended to do, and i use them and intend to continue doing so. I just have a problem with Adobe reader.

I don't want to sit here and have a whinge about Adobe and how much i think they suck and all, I'm merely saying how I feel about it and whether you feel the same or think they are an awesome company doesn't bother me.

Oh and btw i use Foxit Reader, 1.5 Mb program to do what a 27.7Mb file could do.

I'm just gonna resolve the thread instead of starting a forum argument

That's funny! When it's the same code that crashes in any browser, namely the PDF viewer by Adobe.

Quite apart from the topic though, apparently Adobe are going to be providing source code to Flash in order to develop a better native Flash viewer in conjunction with Mozilla. They get points for that in my view.

So you are saying the Plugin is the same for IE as it is for FireFox .. either way ive never had a problem with viewing PDF's in IE .. but it almost exclusively hangs in FireFox.
