Actually it is an external harddisk 20GB and FAT32 File System.
What would be a good recommendation for storage devices? NTFS or FAT32?
Edit: I've also check the disk management and still there's no letter drive of the USB.

Your ata usb interface must be at fault.Try it with another hard drive and see what happens.

yeah that's what I suspected too. But sad to say I don't have any external harddisk to test for.

IBM 20GB ATA/IDE. The enclosure is USB 2.0
I will just try it w/ another enclosure to find out on who's got the problem the HDD or the enclosure.

I'm not sure if this really causes a problem, but are the ports 2.0 compatable?

I think they're compatible because it works fine before.
