Re: Visual Basic MVP
You are approached by MS after they either notice you or someone else mentions you to them...
MVP's are recognized by MS for their activity on the various forums out here...

Re: Visual Basic MVP
In addition to the online forums there is also recognition of user groups and the like - get involved with your local user group and put together some articles and talks the like.

If I am not wrong, you are one of the top poster member at CodeGuru. So CG doesn't recommend its members for MVP?? Strange!!

Re: Visual Basic MVP
I know your work (articles and posts) and they are all top notch. Its just a matter of time IMO. True CG is C centered but perhaps if you posted more at VBF it may help speed things up.

Re: Visual Basic MVP
To be honest, I see that CG is lower on the ranks for forum communities. We have allot more traffic, threads and posts here then at CG. Sorry

I created a profile on CG about a year back. Stopped visiting since it took too much time and CPU to load a single page.
I think that many members there often complained about this.

Re: Visual Basic MVP
Yes, I have noticed that too and spend the majority of my time on VBF since its sooo much faster and contains less ads.
Hannes, you have high visibility over there (posts, reps, author, vb.net mod) that I know that you're doing great there and cant believe you havent been nominated yet.
Keep the faith as I know you will reap what you sow one day sooner or later.
Ps, I'm coming up on my 2 year anniversary over there.

Re: Visual Basic MVP
Yes, but its probably harder to get nominated when its so focused on C languages and the VB languages are very low traffic on CG.

Re: Visual Basic MVP
Np, but it all goes out the window if your strengths are in VB. If your strong in C then CG is a great site/community but they still accept all us VB programmers.
