I'm shocked..
I just created an account on rentacoder.com and decided to check some of the jobs a couple friends and I might be able to tackle in our free time.
Upon viewing the site I was appalled at some of the requests! Some people offer like 20 bucks USD and ask for what is obviously homework....
Here is one said program:

Why would someone be in a programming class if all they're going to do is pay someone else to code their work???

Re: I'm shocked..
That is why I hate now to accept projects from the students.
They want a flawless application and must be finished in a very short time but they'll pay very little.
Sometimes they will runaway.

And because unlike a lot of the people on rentacoder, we have principles.
Rentacoder is only good if you are looking to get a project done cheaply. It's not good for programmers as you will inevitably be undercut by someone from a 3rd world country who will do it for a quarter of your minimum asking price.

Same reason kids pay people to do their homework in any other class: they're lazy.

Re: I'm shocked..
When I was in college, I used to make my classmates assignments, I used to charge somewhere between $20 and $80 per assignment, depending on the level of the class.
They all got over 95% marks in assignments (the ones I made), but each and every one of them failed the final Exam
I told them every single time, "here's the assignment, go home, and study it until you understand every line", yea right... no one did...
They were gonna fail anyways, but at least I made some $...

Re: I'm shocked..
I never did homework for anyone, never took a test for anyone. I did tutor people but I think I must have been the only kid at UT who never cheated, not even once. Probably would have gotten better grades if I had!
