wake on lan?
Hi, got accessible server at home by remote SSH, I was just wondering if there was a way to wake my laptop (who's wired to my router) and access a file on it?
I've heard of wake on lan functions, but I've never tryed it... anybody can help me?
I am currently by remote on a public computer, so I can't physically turn on my laptop...

Re: wake on lan?
WoL works quite well if you machine supports it. Check in the BIOS for a WoL setting and make sure it's enabled, you'll aalso need an application to send the wakeup call or 'magic packet'. If you google it you should find several free ones.
