Hey people!
I realise I should probably have posted this in the 'Project Request' forum, but no-one ever goes in there...
Behemoth and I have been working on a turn based strategy game for quite a while now. About 8/9 months in fact.
I've been working on the programming and Behemoth has devoted himself to the graphics. Makes sense really as I can't draw and he can't program...
Which means, of course, we're going to be stuck for sounds as neither of has any more time to spend on our baby.
What I would like from anyone is some WAV's we could use within the game. Any WAV's will do (except speech - we need to work on them seperately). Random noises, bleeps, burbles, things that sound like weapons going off, things that sound like stuff blowing up, the odd machine noise - anything!
We can't offer you anything apart your name in the credits, a copy of the game once complete and big slobbery kiss. We do ask though, that the WAV's are free from copyright and no-one's going to whoop our ass for using them.
If anyone's interested, a web site for the game is in its fledgling stages and we're hoping to put downloadable versions of the game up for people to download and test.
Mail anything (apart from porn - no, wait, including porn!) to [email protected]
If anyone is a budding musician and has some background music tracks they've made and are wondering what to do with, then feel free to send those as well.
Please send WAV's to the address above zipped, and background music tracks as MP3's if poss, zipped if not.
Thanks for your time and hopefully, your help.
Cheers guys!

Try searching here: http://wavcentral.com/
I will not say they are copyright free, because I don't know.

Thanks Dennis,
That's given me some good working sounds, but I can't use them finally unless I *know* I'm allowed to.

Thanks Active!
Come on people, does no-one have any little sounds or music they want to include in what is going to be the VB game of the century?
You know you do!

Hello there, bit of games programming eh? Good good. VB Explorer has some stuff on it's VB game development section, part of which is free sounds:

The general game programming section is

You might get some better responses by posting in the games & graphics forums, or asking in the forums at www.gamedev.net . Just don't tell them you're doing it in VB or they'll tell you it's crap and you should use C++ or Delphi They ought to know where to get free stuff for games resources though.

Thanks Harry!
Believe me I've weathered enough storms about how VB isn't capable of making proper games. We've decided to prove to the world that it can (starting of course with a turn based rather than a real time strategy and then moving on when this is complete).
To those who replied,
I'm getting somewhere now, starting to build a collection of sounds for use. Your replies have saved me ages of time! Thanks again.
We're hoping to put a downloadable version of the game up on the Sentience website (details will be forthcoming when we do).
Behemoth,
You should be reading this thread even though you're keeping quiet. How's the website coming along, if I mail you the downloadable chunks tonight, could you put them up?

I can't promise anything short term, but I'll let you know ASAP. I've done very little with the site recently, but watch this space.
