Anyone know what value is the best Registry Value to
determine which version of Microsoft Windows is running?
Is it.....
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Software
Microsoft
Windows
CurrentVersion
Version = "Windows 98"

Yes, in my opinion that is the best one.
by the way, my german is a little weak, does that say you were born and raised in Germany?

aatwell: Yes, the registry method is probably the best way, beause it tells you exactly what the OS is. For example, if you use the GetVersionEx function, it will only tell you whether it's 9x, NT or 3.x

I live just north/East of Evansville (in Central time zone)
In a small (German founded) town called Elberfeld. It may be on your map, it may not be. It isn't on all maps.
