Re: remove the bios settings password

My earlier Bios had jumpers ,three of them.To reset the password one had to short the 2nd and third jumpers to clear the password without removing the battery. But i cant see anything like that on my new motherboard.

Try these default password first
For Award BIOS

AWARD_SW
j262
HLT
SER
SKY_FOX
BIOSTAR
ALFAROME

AWARD?SW
LKWPETER
syxz
ALLy
589589
589721
awkward
CONCAT
d8on
CONDO
j64
szyx

For AMI BIOS

AMI
BIOS
PASSWORD
HEWITT RAND
AMI?SW
AMI_SW
LKWPETER
A.M.I.
CONDO

For PHOENIX BIOS

phoenix

Re: remove the bios settings password

The entire CMOS goes away if you remove the battery (or the battery jumper) - all passwords, settings, etc. Most modern BIOSs can autoread the hard drive settings, so all you'd have to set manually would be the time and date.
The most difficult part of developing a program is understanding the problem.
The second most difficult part is deciding how you're going to solve the problem.
Actually writing the program (translating your solution into some computer language) is the easiest part.

Please indent your code and use tags around it to make it easier to read.

Why?
It isn't as hard as it sounds.
Just open the case, flip off the battery, wait 30s and put it back.

Yea there's no other way besides popping out the CMOS battery. Like the above person said it only takes a few minutes.

Well usually there are some pins you can jump as previously mentioned, bit it'll have the same effect to be quite honest.
