Can hear it, and thats probably the worst music i've ever heard. Doesn't hurt my ears though, so why would it be marketted as a deterrant?

BTW, that 20khz sound gave me a headache. They should name it 'adult repelant'.

Try reading the news piece 
The sound is emitted at known trouble areas because only teenagers can hear it. The sound is painful so it stops the teenagers from hanging around that area
Pretty effective too

Hadn't thought of that... maybe that's why I can only get 17khz... all those pressure harmonics slowly melting my ears...

I'm using a good headphone. Maybe that's why I'm able to hear 20khz.

Hence why i'm wondering why they reckon it's effective.

That sound clip says "kill them all, kill them all, kill them all, ..." in a loop.
