There are claims he died of typhoid last month.

It is irrelavent really though, he will probably be just as powerfull in death as alive. Unfortunatley there are plenty more mad men willing to take over where he left off.

If he has died, then they seem to be keeping pretty quiet about it. I suspect he hasn't, after all it would be a great rallying cry to the terrorists, portraying him as a martyr.

Unless, they're waiting for a handy US bomb to land nearby, so they can toss his body into the rubble and then do the whole martyr dying at the hands of the US sort of spin..
