What you you Guys say would be a fair salary for an experienced VB programmer (3 years)
With DAO / TCPIP / SQL / Advanced API etc.
As well as Telecomms 2 Btecs and a module of a post graduate diploma??
Cheers
Geoff

Hmm...
About £5K per year?
Seriously though, it depends where abouts in the world (and in the country) you work.

I agree it depends where you are working, but for three years you should be looking at a minimum of £30K. More if you've got good skills in leading project teams etc and can perhaps oversee more junior developers

I think you'd get more money if you had other skills...like some C++, javascript etc....
Just my 2 cents;

Try earning that down in Devon!

Yeah! and any where else other than the SE for that matter!
I work about 20 miles south of Birmingham and earn £21K
I live 10 minutes drive from work and finish at 1pm on Fridays.
If I were to change jobs I'd probably get an increase of about £3k, have to comute into the centre of Birmingham and spend at least 2 hours a day stuck in traffic.
What's the point in that?
Our head office is in Birmingham and if I was asked to work there I'd start looking for another job straigt away.

Low pay
I'd accept the lower pay to be distant from London anyday. It's not just the cost of living (in and around London) but also quality of life that would be sacrificed for an increased salary.

Beer's ludicrously expensive though...
No wonder Southerners drink sherry!

Shandy!!!
*splutter*
That's outrageous! Anyway, where're you from? Devon? What do you drink there? Pints of mild?
Bloody peasants, go and tend to your sheep!

You nancy boy woofters in the provinces are just jealous of our sophisticated London lifestyle!
Money entirely depends on the age/experience in addition to the three years of VB - with three years banking experience you could get mid-£30's maybe even £40K but you'd have to sell your soul and its not as pretty as Devon!
I'm on holiday in Devon this year near Dartmouth and I can heartily recommend it. (That is, if we ever allowed back into the countryside)

PaulW, you said:

Did you not realise that the Foot & Mouth outbreak is just a ruse put on by us country folk to keep you simple-minded city dwellers out of the country side!
