[RESOLVED] application error
I am getting an application error and it seems to be centered around a dll called LAME_ENC.DLL. When the error occurs I get one of those MS error message to send or not send, there is big long error message in it and also a small txt file that get added. I don't know how to get the first error message to post it but here is the txt file.
Code:

I am really perplexed because I have one other application installed on the same machine that uses this DLL and it works fine.
Can anyone look at this txt file and tell me whats wrong?
Thanks

Re: application error
You are kidding right? All that txt file contains is version information for different files and dependancy files.
What is Lame_Enc.dll?
Post some code

Re: application error
No I am not kidding. LAME_ENC.DLL is a dll file. I use it for my recorder application. The recorder, lets you record a voice message, intially as a WAV file and then it converts this to mp3. I am using two files, the above for mentioned and mp3enc.dll.
When I built the recorder I was new to VB and didn't know what I was doing really. I couldn't find away to record an mp3 file directly, so I had to record a wav file and convert it. The recorder has really been a pain in my side and installation on pc's is quite finicky but usally goes with out a hitch. Anyway those two dll's are used.
I have been studing the file properties between the application that is working and the one that does not, and the only thing I can see different is the file inheritance. In the application that works, the inheritance specifies C:\my application whatever, in the one that doesn't work it only shows C:\.
I am using InstallShield 11 to distribute the applications. So I have been comparing the InstallShield setup between both and can't find any differences. I have replaced the files from one to the other with out any luck. The dll's don't need to be registered just located in the parent directory.
On my pc the applications work with out any problems.
I just don't understand why one application works and the other doesn't. I have read thru my lines of code maticuosly there are no differences.
I am at a loss.

Re: application error
I think I figured out what was wrong and it had nothing at all to do with the DLL's. My work folder is labled "Lake_Hospital", when I installed the application I used "Lake Hospital". By shear luck, I made the association that the folder names need to be the same and sure enough that was it. The installations folder name was causing the recorder to bomb out.
I don't know why or how but it did.
