Oh, tabletop game... Sounds right to me, considering an Avatar costs a fraction of what a Bloodthirster would (in points)

That and Games Workshop likes to underpower anything that doesnt have the word Marine in it.

Only if used correctly. Any monkey can play and win with a Chaos or Space Marine army. Everything else requires skill and tactics because they are generally underpowered versus Marines and the amount of cheese they can pump out.

And Biel Tan sucks. Ulthwe Strike Force Baby!!

Still, you're right, any monkey can win with a Marine army.

Yeah you got it right. The Ulthwe Strike Force is just fun to play. You can so easily get screwed big time with half your army off the table, but the pay off can be huge which is why I like to play them.

After going for power you tend to go for fun... Or at least that's what i found after playing for a while. Hence my Tyranid army... Now THEY were fun to play. The Hormagaunts weren't very strong, but i'm sure you've seen the damage they can do

Gotta love swarming. Also why I like to play Imperial Guard. Something about 200+ troops on the table is gratifying. Thats alot of dice to roll when using my lasgunss teehee.

Is it Cultists from Chaos that are stupidly cheap in points? They make fine cannon fodder

Funny how powerful lasguns can be in those kind of numbers isn't it? Kinda fun... haha.

Yeah. My gaming group used to call them flashlights before I showed up due to how useless they perceived them. That was before they saw my endless line of Troops..lol

And yeah cultists are rediculously cheap. Not quite as effective now though due to not having to target the closest unit anymore. But get them in hand to hand, they can soften up even the hardest CC unit a little till your CC units get there.

Gotta admit they're hard to cut through in close combat. Simply too many of them to take down!

I've not played under the latest ruleset unfortunatly, not played in a good 2 years now, still have my armies though...

Same. It's been about a year for me. Not much time to play anymore. But still got my 4k points of IG, 2.5k of Eldar, and 5k of Orcs.

    Re: Avatar [56k warning]

I had 7 Tyranid Screamer Killers once. I have no anecdotes to ad to this, I was not alowed to play them all at once because my opponents were all pansies. They were similar to this... but I only ever painted 2 of them and I suck at painting...

And I don't have them any more, because that would make me look like a nerd. Hmm.

Hmm, 4.5k of Ultramarines, 1.5k of Eldar (Biel-Tan), 1.5k Of 'Nids, erm... What else have i got hidden up there... I don't remember using that many other armies...

I too was rather crap at painting, took alot of time to make things look normal, n'mind any good.

I would of loved to face all 7 in a moderately high points game, should of been interesting. However, i could probably only face you with my Marines

I am a really good painter. Took years of practice. Actually entered some pieces into a couple Golden Demon awards. Never won though.

Oooh I had a squad of 4 Noise Marines too. I bought them of my mate who was a decent painter. He was into creating diorama scenes too. I soooo wish I had kept them now.

I'd love to play against you, i have a crap load of basic marines that would probably still enjoy the fight even though they would be getting 4+ saves instead of 3+ :/

I have a squad of Striking Scorpions that are painting extremely well, i eneded up getting them given to me fomr a mate who bought them for me off a decent painter (who had quit playing and needed to fund his drug abuse )

Thinking about it, alot of my stuff probably is broken now.
