Slow Slow Slow

I don't know what's causing this extremly slow speed but it takes about 15 seconds to load page (any page) - I am on T1 connection and rest of internet is just fine.

Seriously, if the slowness occurs for more then 30 minutes or so then I would say something is up. Otherwise it could be just a Admin performing maintenance or an intense query etc.

If it was maintenance then it would be nice for them (the admins) to make an announcement like:

Due to maintenace expect delays on 09/10/2006 between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM.

Yes, and they usually do but I'm just saying that when performing queries for any kind of searching by mods it can take a performance it for a few minutes if the member has allot of posts. If I perform a query for my own posts (not a basic search like you can do) it can take up to 30 (estimated from experience) minutes. Its not done very often, only when needing to deal with certain issues.

Its nothing of major concern like when doing database maintenance. Usually its very rare when it does occur. For ex. if we had a regular well established member that we needed to research posting history or other stats on, then it may occur but still only a few minutes and nothing more then a few minutes of a resource hit if any. We take care not to do any indepth searching unless absolutely necessary.

September 22, from 9PM to 10PM British Time. Major slow. I kept getting "The connection was reset at the server" as well in the latter half of the hour.
