As you all know, last Saturday my family was in a roll-over car accident. My luck has continually gotten worse since. Here is a list of things that have gone wrong in the last 10 days.
1. Saturday, February 24th - roll-over car accident. Everyone got out fine, but the car is a total loss.
2. Monday, February 26th - lost my purse because I stupidly left in on top of the car when strapping my son into his car seat, and forget it there. Fortunetly, a cop was following me when it flew off the top of the car and fell everywhere. We had moved 4 months earlier, so we were not listed in the phone book. The cop luckily found us because he remembered reading about our car accident days before.
3. Tuesday, February 27th - fiance received a phone call that we won a 3 night all expenses paid trip for 2 to Okabogie (spelling?) - after going over the requirements for the trip, we lost the trip because Mike was only 24. You have to be 25 to accept the trip. Mike turns 25 in September.
4. Today - Monday, March 5th - there was a 6,000 gallon liquid propane leak at the Land 'O' Lakes factory in my town. A school in my state was completly destroyed a month or two ago (Plankington) because of a 50 - 70 gallon liquid propane leak. This should show you the seriousness of this matter. The town was evacuated immediatly. I can not go home until at least tomorrow night at the earliest, and that is highly unlikely as they are excavating the ground tomorrow to check the levels of propane saturation. They also have to do a test in everyone's basement before we can go back home to make sure our house won't explode. I don't work in the town where I live, so I still have to go to work.
Has anyone else ever had a string of bad luck like I have had in the last couple of days?

Well, It doesn't really compare with yours, but one time a few months ago, I was looking for a particular pair of sneakers, and they were SOLD OUT!!! It totally ruined the rest of my day.

Some emergency fire/rescue people are at my house checking on my cats right now. They are moving the cat box and their food to the main floor and shutting the basement door so that they don't inhale any of the liquid propane if it does seep into our basement. Isn't that reasuring?!

Well,
A bit back, over the period of about 1 month, my girlfriend of 2 1/2 years dumped me, my dad was rushed into hospital because his eyeball blew up and my best friend of 15 years stole my brand new car and smashed it up.
Still, life goes on, the trick is to try and stay cheerful and be glad of the friends you have who stand by you through it all (One friend in particular springs to mind - you know who you are).
I hope it all works out OK for you smh...

Ditto, I split up with my girtfriend yesterday so I'm haing a fairly crap week, nothing compared to yours though.
You gotta say to yourself "s**t happens, I've had all my bad luck for the year so nothing else can go wrong ..."
How does someones eyeball blow up ?

Well, first the retina detaches and then all the blood vessels in the back of the eye think "hey, wouldn't it be cool to all simultaneously rupture, filling the eye with blood?"
How long had you been with your girlfriend Alex?

That's an especially pleasant thought since I was just reading about vodka jelly.

The net affect of your eyeball exploding is very similar to that of eating some of Behemoths vodka jelly.
Believe me...

The wheels will fall off, the gearbox will explode, the windscreen will implode lacerating the upholstery and the car will be hit by a meteorite.
Oh, and there'll be nick in the paintwork on the back bumper.
PS - What car is it?

A Honda Accord, after learning to drive for 3 - 3 1/2 years, and 7 tests, I got my car!!!
I did the pass plus and my insurance dropped from £1490 (cheapest of literally 30 companies I tried) to £645 - how cool is that !!!

Shanea,
Last year I lost my nephew of 22 in August, my brother-in-law of 54 in November and my Grandfather of 91 in December. I think you should be thanking your lucky stars that you've had only misfortune not misery! Everyone has months that seem like crap. The trick is to realize that it will pass and the important things are still there...like family and beloved friends. Don't get yourself upset...just try to take whatever good you can out of the situation and next week will be much better!

Well, they have down-sized the leak to 4200 gallons now. They are now saying that it might be 2 - 3 more days until we can go home. They are escorting people to their houses to get necessities. You have 5 minutes to grab what you need and get out. Try packing for 3 people in 5 minutes! I hope I got everything that I needed.

OK, Friday night get the new £20,000 car home - essential with a family of four under four...
Later Friday. Car won't start.
Saturday. Car is back in the garage. Nobody can get us a hire car 'cos it is the weekend. Spend the entire week-end and most of Monday sorting it out (>15 LONG phone calls).
Monday morning. Start my last week at work and find that my successor (who I have been 'handing over to for a fortnight) has resigned!
Monday p.m. - our holiday let turns out to be pre-booked (sigh)
Tuesday dn't feel like getting out of bed
Still, we are not sloshing around in Propane but we do have mice
P.
Not nearly so tired now...
Haven't been around much so be gentle...
