    this is just a shot in the dark but here's a link to packard bells support website based on the description of your model.

    perhaps you need to install the chipset drivers?

    be sure to verify your make and model

    You only need those if you want the USB ports to work.
    The most difficult part of developing a program is understanding the problem.
    The second most difficult part is deciding how you're going to solve the problem.
    Actually writing the program (translating your solution into some computer language) is the easiest part.
