    OraDatabase object and oip8.tlb

    Hello friends,

I have this problem right now. There's this project I have been examining in order to do some enhancements. When I tried running it, I got an error which says " ActiveX component can't create object" and points to the use of the OraDatabase object used in the source codes. Now Iv'e search this in the internet and they said I need the library Oracle Inproc Server 3.0 to be able to use this object and to get this library, I need the oip8.tlb file.

Is that correct? If it is, I currently do not have a copy of that file in my pc eventhough I have Oracle SQL plus installed in it. Where could I get one?

I would appreciate any form of help. Thanks

    ^^
I have Oracle SQL plus installed in my pc. I tried looking for the file in its folder but I cant seem to find any oip8.tlb. I can only find the oip9.dll file. I tried adding it in the library in the project references section but an erros appears and says the file couldn't be added.

Anyone has a copy of this file? oip8.tlb

What version of the SQL client is on you system? I have the client disks from 8 to 10g. You can also download them all from Oracles website and find the parts there. They also have all the Oracle tools for VB on the site.

We're using the 9i version which has oip9.dll and I don't think we have one for 8i. I dont want to download the whole 8i client just for that one file. Can you just maybe share it to me along with the oip8.dll file?

You need Oracle part number A85257-01. That is OO4O for Oracle. I do not have that CD. Look at this page (from an Oracle Search on Oracle Tech Net):
