Hey guys a little tech Q for ya

My Video Card: BFG GeForce FX 5500 OC 256MB

Will my video card work on a Samsung SyncMaster 940BW 19IN Widescreen LCD?

Also a question about my card, does it support Aspect Scaling?

What is aspect scaling?

As long as your card has matching connector types with the monitor, then it will work. It should have a VGA connector and possibly a DVI connector as well. The monitor will be either of these. Usually the only problems you have are when you have a DVI-only monitor and VGA-only card.

Aspect Scaling fixes problems with games that don't support WideScreen resolutions.

I disagree, there are requirement that my card must meet. For example, if my card doesn't have aspect scaling some game will look terrible. Also some chipset's aren't compatible with certain monitors (for instance the 82945G Express chipset doesn't work with WideScreens). And if my video card doesn't support the monitor's best resolution then I have another problem.

Please help me see if this is the right by for me

No do not buy that card...
1) its a PCI card right? no good..
2) it does not have aspect Scaling.. you need to find a newer card then that one to get that feature. this card is old.. I have a FX5900 and thats old...

I think, not 100% sure, but u need to jump into the GeForce 6 or 7 series to get monitor scaling options..
