Laptop: Press power button, beeps four times and turns off
Hi guys,
I have a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo D8820 laptop which I gave to my sister when I got a new one. My sister let the battery run right down last night until it turned itself off. Now, despite having been left on charge all day, when the power button is pressed it beeps 4 times and then that's it, no screen action, and I've been told the battery light doesn't show on the laptop.
Any idea what 4 beeps means?
Thanks in advance.

Depends on the MB manufacturer....
here are a few possiblilites:
System timer failure
Video Memory
Bad checksum?
basically its telling you there is a problem..
Go to Fujitsu website, and look up the manual for that laptop.
there should be something to tell u what exactly it is...

The beeps are BIOS error codes, and 4 beeps means something for that BIOS. Need to lookup the BIOS error codes for the one your LapTop uses...

Your battery may be dead, It happens with a certain series of batteries. Not exactly sure which. But the battery dies when you let it run out completley. If it turns on with the plug in and with the battery out of the computer, then the problem is the battery.
