What really confuses me is that noone has picked that option according to the poll... maybe the forum has developed enough intelligence to realise your opinion isn't important Jeff

Hotmail does suck, goes down a lot and is very unreliable.

Although, I use it anyway .
I hate Yahoo and I don't want to give out my AOL screen name .

    Angry Junk Mail

I've never given my hotmail account out to anyone and I get 10-15 e-mails a day on it! Amazing eh?

Needless to say it's all junk mail.

On AOL, I don't have a profile for certain reasons, because weird people can look you up, and others can start sending you porn because you have a profile . So for that reason, my profile is just black...a black background.

here is what has been going on:
    To Whom it May Concern,

Please forward this email to your immediate supervisor.

This is ridiculous! I have been with Hotmail for over 4 years and now you
close my account for no reason and refuse to even give me a reason why?!?!
The replies I keep getting say that "For security and privacy reasons, we
cannot give you further information regarding the status of this account."
Who's security and privacy are you protecting? THIS IS MY ACCOUNT! I am the
one person you are authorized to give my account information to! I just want
my service back - There is no reason for it to have been taken away from me.
If you need any proof that this is my account I will be happy to provide
that to you. If you cannot give me an explanation via email, please call me
at (949) ***-**** or send me a letter or something! After four years I
deserve some kind of explanation as to why my account has been closed. I
have NEVER used Spam, pirated software, viruses, harassed any person, or
    sent any 'objectionable material.'

Please, I am very confused as to why this is happening. I love Hotmail, and
I do not wish go to another service.

    -Justin

Hey Justin, that's a pretty darn amusing, conversation you were having there, but why don't you just sign up with a new name?? How they ganna know it's you?

the problem then becomes - who hasnt got your email address, and who's email address do you not know but is stored in you email list.

    Thumbs down

I have had an alternative Hotmail address that I use for work for over a year now. I am in the process of switching over to Yahoo now. They let you store 6 megs vs. Hotmails 2. They do not have Block Sender though... The Almighty Behemoth is right - it is HUGE pain in the ass making sure everyone has the correct address.

If you meant Yahoo doesn't have block sender, actually it does.

The slightly complicated simplest solution to making sure everyone has your correct address is to sign up at bigfoot.com to have them forward your mail to wherever you want (more than one place if you like). You get one consistent address @bigfoot.com and when you change your actual address you just change your bigfoot account details to point to the right one.

I just changed from Yahoo to MyRealBox after downed servers, lost messages, stuff like that.

I just changed my DNS MailEasy field to point to the new thing and it was done in about 24hrs.

Right now I have about 80% of my emails go to (anything) @justinames.com and have that forwarded or POP mailed to various addresses - www.portland.co.uk hooked me up with that and a free domain for my website. No american company would do that without drowning you in banners and popups....

www.gmx.net offer free web-based and/or POP based email, and if you use POP, there is no advert in your sig. If you use Web-Based, it says "sent with GMX freemail" at the bottom....

i am not a hacker or anything, but i have seen a lot of websites that tell one how to "hack" into a hotmail account, and get the password. I don't know if they work, but i have never signed up there to take the chance on getting "hacked"!
