    Interview presentation advice please

I've got a second interview for a great position and have been asked to give a 20-30 min presentation on a recent piece of my work.

I'm currently a VB6 developer, but have never had to give a technical presentation before - does anyone out there have any tips about the best way to present a piece of technical work?

    Welcome to the Forums.

Make sure you know what every line and part of your code does so its easiuer to explain it or give logic synopsis of it. The more you know and prep for the presentation the more comfortable and relaxed you will be in the presentation.

    Good luck.

    Re: Interview presentation advice please

Do you have a feel for the technical expertise of your audience? Will they be familiar with the functioning of the program, such that any innovations will be recognized as such, or will they just be staring at you like a bunch of pithed frogs?

If your audience has great technical expertise, I would suggest an overview of the program, and pick a few interesting problems that you had to solve, and explain them with some enthusiasm. They probably are not looking to see a bunch of code, they are probably looking to see how you think about problems and address issues. I would expect that showing enthusiasm for a good solution to a sticky issue would be more beneficial than showing a sound but uninspired program.
