PROGRESS BAR (Animation to show application is still running)

Can anyone help me??
I am trying to create a graphic or animation that will show the user that the application is still running. I have a number of large SQL statement that take minutes to get results and I want to show the user that the application hasnt crashed. I would like an animation such as a car or fish that moves up and down a panel or similar I know Cognos Reports has the same type of control. Do I have to create an active x exe??
Please help if u can

I you don't want a proggress bar you must create it.

You don't have to create an ActiveX exe. You can use ActiveMovie control to show the animaton. But first, you have to have that animation file (.avi).

So, you would show the animation first, then run your SQL statement, then turn the animation off.
