It sounds English rather than Dutch really, but we have pretty funky regional dialects here so I can't exclude anything.

You sure it was spelled like that?

A good litmus test is to kick shim in the crotch. Gender can be assertained by the amount the subject double's over in pain.

Or touch their boobs. Gender can then be ascertained by the amount you double over in pain.

Jenny is the short name of Jennifer. Jennifer is the Cornish form of the Welsh name Gwenhwyfar (also known as Guinevere, from the King Arthur myths)

It is therefore a girls name

in phils, there is the name Generoso for males, which will be given the nickname genny ("jenny") by spelling rights.. and all others such as. gene, ene, ner, ero, ros, oso...

    you just pick one
    hope this helps.

So? The origins of a name is still the same, just as mine is from Greece originally

Not all countries are innfluent the same way as your small island... Like in Italy many girls have names that they look at at girls name, but in Norway they are stricktly boys name, and the other way around. Doesn't mean they have the same origin, nor same meaning.
