PWS is the web utility of WIN98. you dont need it. XP is built on NT structure and NTs counterpart for PWS is IIS. you just need to activate it.

    Re: Download

SQL Server 7.0 is pretty old, so you might have some problems there (and even if you find it, it will not be free).

I would suggest moving to at least SQL Server 2000, or even better, 2003.

If you could tell me, how would I be able to activiate IIS? The only problem is that I am using Windows XP Home.

    Re: Download

If memory serves, IIS is not supported on XP Home.

Your best bet would be to search on the Microsoft web site, as they will provide details of how to enable it, or an explanation of why it isn't supported.

    Re: Download

Well I have searched on methods of how to create Ftp servers on Windows XP Home.

I can download IIS from the internet I believe. The only thing is that it asks you to modify certain files. If I can, I will try to find the post and attach it ASAP. Sorry for the late reply.

Yes, there are Hacks out there to allow IIS to run on XP Home but its not advisable or stable anyways.

Ps, Hack I think you means SQL 2000 and SQL 2005 Server.

    Re: Download

I agree with you that IIS is not available on Windows XP for download but, it is available for download from the internet. I believe I once downloaded IIS 4.0 for trying to set up an FTP server. I have seen the hacks to let IIS run on WinXP but the problem is changing those dll files.

Could someone tell me what kind of risks do I pose by changing those dll files?
