I'm just getting started in the SQL programming area. I'm trying to learn how to write custom front-end applications for Sybase SQL Server. But there's no one within 100 miles that knows Sybase SQL Server. I need someone to help me understand how to get VB to send the proper commands to the DB server. Things like:
-how to log in to a db
-how to access fields
-creating new db files
and basically anything else that a small business would need to be able to do. Also, if you know of any good books I can read to help me on this, I would appreciate it if you'd tell me about those as well. Thanks.
