    Stupid Windows Calculator

    OK, found this on another forum.
    Open the Windows Calculator.

    enter 2 and press 'sqrt' to get the square root of 2
    press '×' and then '=' to square the square root of 2 to get 2 again
    subtract 2

    It's a rounding error caused by the sqrt of 2. This comes up a lot when you want to find the zeros of functions on graphing calculators. My old math teahcer said this all the time: "Look at it, it's 1.blah to the -37. That's really close to zero so for our purposes, it is zero."
    As much as I'd like to say MS sucks and can't program calculators, it's not their fault.
