Welcome to the Forums.
After you have created your report you can view it using the CR Viewer control on a form in VB6. I have a small example in my signature.

Do you have MDAC installed? What OS are you running? I dont use the DE as its old and cumbersome.

Re: Crystal Reports 9 & VB6 help required
I am using Wiondows XP Professional Sp1(version 2002).
The VB6 i am using was working perfectly fine before i installed crystal reports 9.
I am just scared that this factor about the message"MISSING MICROSOFT DATA SOURCE LOCATOR" shouldnt affect my ADO, RDO ,etc connections or files

Lots of examples here..

ETA: I had this once and had to reinstall the latest MDAC. When I went to the latest version the error went away. I think it's 2.8 now. Download it and install it from the MS website.

Re: Crystal Reports 9 & VB6 help required
When searched for the error message I get - "No results were found." for "MISSING MICROSOFT DATA SOURCE LOCATOR".
Perhaps you could link to a page with an exact solution?

I wish I could. I simply took a stab at doing something and it apparently did the trick for me. I have no idea why.
I searched everywhere and I never found an answer either.

Re: Crystal Reports 9 & VB6 help required
Yes, I was also thinking MDAC as the culprit as in post #6 but depending on how the connection is being setup its probably missing either MDAC, reference to MDAC, or ????
