    Access Subform Question..

    I have a subform on a form. its linked to a table and loads data according to an ID.. all works fine

    Now I coded some of the fields to use defaults on exit...works fine.. Except:

    Add a new record - great.. goes to the next line...
    I click elsewhere on the main form and POP! it enters the default since the exit event fired... Any ideas around this?

    how can I cancel a new record on lost focus of the subform?

    What if you used the BeforeUpdate event procedure instead of the Exit even?

    Try the Form_Current event but it doesnt have a Cancel argument like the BeforeUpdate has.

    Re: Access Subform Question..

    my main issue is that in the main form.. I can really catch stuff like that...

    subform_Enter()
    subform_Exit()

    is it...

    so basically:

    On Exit if subform.dirty then cancel new/edit record
