[RESOLVED] Display user name that gave rep
I can't help feeling I might be missing something but, when a user gives me rep I can't always be sure who it was. I can usually make an educated guess by checking the thread and/or what they've written but could we maybe have a column added to the 'Latest Reputation Received table to display this info.
In one of the other threads it was suggested that there be a time duration in addition to the "spread" of 10. So if you havent rep'd 10 members within a particular amount of time, it would allow you to Rep a member before reaching the 10.
However great this sounds, it is something we will have to wait for vBulletin to implement as its a very involved process that no Hack can perform.

I dont answer coding questions via PM. Please post a thread in the appropriate forum.
If you find yourself "stuck" not able to rep somebody who has helped you, have a quick look around for other useful posts - there are many threads where people have posted useful things in response to a question.
This is what many of us do - I don't know if I've actually asked a question for myself since reps started, but have repped posts many times.
Reminder text may be possible as that would be just a template change but this may break when we upgrade to vB 3.5 as the reputation box is moved from a popup window to its own page. I am not sure if it has an editable template in 3.0.x and if it does whether it would be compatible with the page in 3.5.x.
Reminder text isn't even really a hack since it doesn't alter functionality, and in truth this could be handled entirely clientside, however displaying usernames in reps is not something we wish to have. It will cause arguments for sure.
I'm sure it won't - CodeGuru has it (look at the picture).
They have pr0ven to be more mature than us, time after time. Won't mention incidents, but I guess we all know.
@Visual: Have to call BS on that one. It was usernames that started an argue long before we knew what reps was. WHen everyone lost their user names after the big crash.

Re: [RESOLVED] Display user name that gave rep
Just to be clear, does the 'retaliation' refer to positive or negative retaliation. ie is it a 'Oooh look XYZ123 gave me a good rep so I'll give him one back even though he doesn't really deserve it' or is it 'XYZ123 gave me a bad rep so I'm going to slander him all over the board and rack up some negative reps for him every time I get the chance'?
If it's the latter surely the ability to withold your user name for a given rep would be apropriate.

Both would happen. More "trading" (for the positives) and retaliation (for the negatives)...
Has someone helped you? Then you can Rate their helpful post.
And I don't - most of people that reped me (either way) had left their names in the comments and if they didn't it was too obvious for me who did more often than never.
So...
