I like to arrange Icons in folders by function rather than alphabetically by Name. Win98 keeps rearranging them.

    The following options seems pertinent.

    Remember each folder's viw settings.

    Auto arrange.

I have tried various scenarios, none work. There was a time when Win98 left icons as they were the last time I rearranged them, so I know there is a way. I tried all sorts of variations like the following.

Open folder, Rearrange icons, close, open again, and Win98 put them in alpha order.

Open folder, Rearrange icons, set "remember option," close folder, open again, and Win98 out them in alpha order.

Does anybody know how to do this?

I think he means he wants to ararnge them how he likes them, in order of how often he uses them, or grouped according to relevant they are to each other. Like you arrange icons on the desktop, in some kind of sensible patterns (unless you're lazy and just put icons anywhere).
