Hey all. I was just wandering around www.gamedev.net and came across a link to this video from a big Apple Mac show in Japan. You can get it at:
http://www.bluesnews.com/files/movie...doom_asf.shtml
The GeForce 3 is currently being released on the Mac in March, but no doubt it will be released on the PC soon after. Thought maybe some of you game developers would like to see what ID software can do with today's technology.
It's kinda cool actually because I was only thinking a month or so ago how old the Q3A engine is now, and it's really still the most technically advanced engine around. By the looks of this new Doom engine, that's gonna change when they release their new creation
The movie is about 12 meg zipped, but if you're on a 56k it's still worth it, it looks really good.

writing haskell makes your life easier:
reverse (p (6*9)) where p x|x==0=""|True=chr (48+z): p y where (y,z)=divMod x 13

I've noticed this -- they go on about how the graphics are so good on the PS2 and Dreamcast, but my Voodoo3 does better and it was cheaper

Have you played the latest Madden game on PS2? The players' eyes move around and they talk to each other (but you can't hear anything they say), it's kinda spooky when they give you a close up of the player cos they look really paranoid
