    zd8000 power

    I'm looking for a car adapter to power, not just charge, the hp zd8000 in the car. I dont even know if one exists.

    There's no aftermarket supply for the larger HPs - 115 watts is about the largest, and that doesn't work too well with the 120 watt laptops. Your only choice is HP's own supply or an inverter and the AC supply.

    But are you sure that the zd series needs 180 watts? The zx series needs 120 watts, and I thought that was the biggest power hog HP made. What's the votage/current listed on your AC supply?

    Power inverter is the best and cheapest bet I would say... Just search for "car power inverter" or something like that... the ones that just plug into the cigarette lighter...

    ?? there are plenty of inverters over 200 watts.. I have one...

    I ran my Xbox on it for my son to play...

    but heres overkill...
