    urgent maths problem

    i have a maths problem asking me to show that the line y=m^2x = 2cm touches the rectangle xy = c^2 for all values of m. also i have to find the coordinates of the point of contact with m and c.

    how would i go about solving this...

    I don't understand what you mean by "rectangle xy = c2". A rectangle is limited by 4 straight lines, 2 horizontal and 2 vertical.

    I suppose you would get the equation of each individual line composing the rectangle and run simultaneous equations on the lines against the other line.
