If you would like to try out my game (compltetly freeware), download the file at www.kaynor.net/games/PlanetWars.zip. I would have attached it to the topic, but is too big. At this point, I don't have a finished setup for it, and no, I can't use the package and deploment wizard, as I don't like the fact that there are no options, and that I can't include the neccierly BGMaker and optional Map Editor and Customizer. Please be hounst with the poll, and don't vote unless you've tryed the game. Later, it may be advailable at download.com, as I have already submitted it.

    Cool umm...

how exactly does the game work? I didn't see any instructions.

and since I'm checking out yours, wanna see a game I wrote? It can be downloaded in the "Check this out" thread. It's only 16.7k, all zipped up. Make sure you get the one towards the bottom, tanksb.zip

sorry, ur too late. I already downloaded ur game from ur post. And for insuctions, check help (F1). It explains how to play the game. If you need more help, I will add to the help file.

Does the link I gave you include a map editor? if not, then I need to update that copy.

oh yah, you have to run the program PlanetWars.exe (the game) and wait for it to load before you can get to help, or you can try to read the help.pwh file. Your choice.

    Angry

Ran it, gave an "Invalid property" error or something, but what really annoyed me: WHERE THE HELL DID MY TASKBAR GO?!?!

I would like to see a working version of this, but hiding the task bar is NOT a trick most people appreciate, especially when it quits unexpected!

I'm using Win98SE, but the funny thing was, when I ran it on another PC, it worked fine...

Anyways, that's not what my point was, if your game hides the taskbar (and as far as I've seen it does), you should remove that piece of code, it's very annoying...

    Unhappy Taskbar

I ran the program, got an error message "Path Not Found" then lost my taskbar!!!

I think it needs a little work

I found that not hiding the task bar results in the task bar interfering with the game play. By the way, I have tested the game on a few win 98, win 98 SE, win ME, and win 2000 mechines. On each of them I got the same results: works on all but the win 2000.

In case you care, I can only get the specs for one 98 SE, ME, and 2000 mechine. As the others change on a near hourly bases. All but the 2, yes 2, I can check are used as test mechines at Intel.
