I am trying to write some code in excel using vb. I am trying to use a calculation of field E1 and enter it into feild F1 but I cant seem to get it. Here is what I am trying:

Sub date_timetest()
Dim rCell As Range
    For Each rCell In Range( _
        Range(E:E), _
        Cells(Rows.Count, "E").End(xlUp))
        If rCell.Value <> "" Then
        rCell.FormulaR1C1 = "=(RC[-1] -INT(RC[-1]))*24"
        End If
    Next rCell
 
End Sub

Does this make any sense. I am new to coding so I am a little lost. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks Neal.

Are you doing this inside of Excels VBA?

yes it is inside excels vba.

Ok, then it sounds like you may want to use a SUM on the column then?

If a sum is what your trying to do then it would go in the destinations cells formula.

Range("F1").Formula = "=SUM(E:E)" 'Assumes adding up the entire E column and places value in F1

Or such.

So I would write:
Range("F:F").FormulaR1C1 = "=(RC[-1] -INT(RC[-1]))*24"
So that it uses this formula on cell F for cell E?

I need to know more of what your trying to do.
Are you wanting a formula for any cell in column F to calculate for any cell in column E?
