Re: Britain's youngest mother to give birth at 12
Her 34-year-old mother, who gave birth to her youngest child eight months ago, said she was 'proud' of her daughter.
Are these the 'Chavs' I keep hearing about?

The girl smokes 20 cigarettes a day despite being eight months' pregnant. She conceived aged 11 when she lost her virginity to a boy of 15 on a drunken night out with friends.

"I can give up smoking at any time, but I don't find it affects my pregnancy."
It's good that she can detect that it is not harming the child. She can probably perform some kind of Power On Self Test. She can detect the status of the child just like a hard drive
I actually feel sorry for her child. Having to grow up with a "mother" and grandmother like those...

Having sex with a minor is automatically a statutory rape charge. Because she's a child see can't give consent per se.
No doubt this girl will be a granny by the time shes 25.

Hey, can we get back to the conversation a few months ago where I said all females should take birth control until they are 18.
"And most of the evils of society can, in fact, be cured through information. We have a society that has been disinformed and based on the disinformation has made irrational choices. And that's what I mean by 'ignorance.' People, who ordinarily might be smart, are deprived of the data by which to make a rational decision, don't have the data to do it."

I agree.. I reckon the best method would be what an American comedian suggested (can't remember who tho): take warning labels off of everything, before long all the stupid people will be gone.

Actually, that is a little dumb, because locks turn one way to lock and the other way to unlock. So when you start picking it and see that it wont budge, you know it's already unlocked.

I'm confident she was well informed regarding ease of quitting and the effects of alcohol and smoking during pregnancy before making her conclusions.

Actually its quite brilliant... you won't know if its not budging because its at a dead stop (unlocked), or the pins are still holding it (not fully picked and still locked)... I've done lock picking as a hobby - and a back up measure to losing keys, have three thin tools in my wallet.

There may be something in that. In some cases of extremely heavy dependency the ill effects of the stress caused by quitting a substance can be worse for the child than the effects of the substance itself. Mind you, you'd have to be really going some to achieve that level of dependency by the age of 12!
Does this mean socialism is in direct conflict with Darwinism? Round my way it seems to be only the stupid people who get to breed.

I don't know what this "chav" label refers to but I might add that that this particular case is from Scotland (in case it wasn't very clear).

True, but that means the baby will inevitably be a chav too. And in my experience, chavs are happy being chavs. Indeed they seem to take some inexplicable pride in the fact. So she will raise a happy child - even if it is one that will sooner or later key my car.
About this girls mum being proud, it's worth mentioning that she said she was proud of her daughter for deciding to keep the baby rather than for getting pregnant. So that's alright then, she's obviously a fine upstanding member of our society who know's how to raise her offspring responsibly and with a firm moral code.
